An invitation.
Hey friends. I am approaching my “bloggerversary” and I am looking at some old posts and I came across one about the birth of my blog. How did I become a “mom blogger”?
Would you share in the comments why you write on Facebook or why you blog and share with friends and total strangers?
Will you share why you started throwing your mind’s thoughts out into the interspace for all to read?
Share a post if you have written about it, even if it is old.
Share with me why we are the same people, the people who dump their underwear drawer on the floor at a dinner party.
That is how I often describe blogging.
You know that wrenching feeling when you post something that you are drawn to share and you can’t figure out why, but you do any way. That giddy feeling you get when a picture you took tells a story and you post it on FB knowing it will make people laugh. That feeling you connected with someone because a wrenching story made them reach out to you privately and thank you.
I started my blog for many reasons. I was blindsided that I had outlived my mother. My children were so much younger than I was when she died. If something happened to me would they know who I was? Would they know how much I loved them? Would they know how funny and amazing they were?
I wrote in secret at first. Did you?
I wrote poorly, and still do, but I think some of us are just storytellers and comma placement is tertiary compared to relating to other people and sharing emotions or laughter. Do you?
Comment about why you Facebook or blog and if you are happy you continued.
Tell me if your writing is done for the same reasons as the day you started.
Share a blog post, if you have it, about the birth of your blog or writing.
One of the things that has been an unexpected result of writing has been the unbelievable experiences and people it has brought into my life. The 99.9% amazeball folks and even the .01% that made me realize I just don’t care to feed the trolls.
Share your words about why you share your words.
Who knows, you may find someone in the thread you can relate to.
Here is a story I wrote at the very beginning about why I will never scrap book.
