I woke up this morning to news that the “royal baby” was on it’s way while looking at the news on my cell phone.
Eyes rolled.
Scrolled down to find real news.
I saw a woman in Dubai was given a prison term for being raped.
Brushed my teeth
I went on Facebook to see two massive blows to education in North Carolina were passed today.
Then I went into the living room and found my kids cuddled up on the couch waking up.
“Hey guys! Guess what? There is a princess in Great Britain who is in labor and she is about to have a new prince or princess today!”
With all of the bad news and all of the disappointments the kids hear about from Newtown to adults arguing politics on the television I suddenly realized my childhood memories of hearing about the “royal wedding” and the babies being born. I need to emphasize all the good in the world too. They get so much bad thrown at them from so many media and social outlets.
I wrote about our “Timeline of our Children Marked by Monsters” (Here).
I need to remember that just because there are worse and more relevant things going on in the world I don’t have to stop appreciating a baby being born.
A real prince. A prince that isn’t a dictator but just a little baby that millions of people are thinking about, at the same time.
Today, each time I call the boys I have said, “My little princes…”
Thank you little prince for giving my boys a happy bubble on their timeline history.

I’m with you girl. Knock it all you want but it’s nice to have “happy” in the news for a change and as a girl of the 80’s who watched Will’s mom get married and him being born, I kind of have a big attachment to the whole story.

I am right there with you. Sadly, Diana died on our wedding night. Sat in hotel room watching on TV. :/
