Red is the New March and How it Made Us All Modern Hippies

April 14, 2013

As I see folks avatars changing back to their regular and best version of themselves out here in the great big world of social media I switched over to see what was going on in my private and personal, very personal, and small circle of family and friends. My inner, inner circle where they know [...]

Dirty Politics at the Expense of Our Children’s Educations

February 27, 2013

It had plenty of room for the rural county’s children. Soon word got out about what a lovely place Davie County was. Builders came in and built beautiful planned communities.     Families moved into these homes and the neighborhoods soon began to fill up.  The families began to grow.  The schools also began to get [...]

Seasons and Appreciation

February 9, 2013

I just wanted to share a picture I snapped this week in my neighborhood. I love finding little gifts while doing something as monotonous as driving up to get my mail and finding this glorious sky to watch the whole way. Sometimes I complain about winter too much. I like seasons. I need contrast. It [...]

Even The Universe Finds Us Ridiculous

November 9, 2012

My husband and I have been together since we were kids in rural Michigan.  Our families still share vegetables, (mostly because they want to rub it in each others faces who’s came in first and who has the biggest) and my husband never had a washer and dryer growing up.  Sundays were laundromat days with [...]

When Did I Lose Faith in Myself?

July 26, 2012

We would be instant chums. She would tell me she appreciates my brass ba!!s when it comes to what I want to post and yet understands why I spell inappropriate words with symbols. She would give me the inside scoop on how things really work and tell me plainly what I am doing wrong and how I can improve. She would share my fondness of vodka and love of desserts. She would tell me there is a place for me and that I am not like everyone else that calls herself a blogger. She would offer me a cigar.

What is a Wordless Wednesday?

July 11, 2012

I took this photo yesterday at my father in-laws house. Ok, so I get the wordless Wednesday thing but I have been without any consistent technology and I’m breaking! So until I finish writing, (ON MY PHONE) a post for tomorrow I will leave you with a photo I took yesterday, and a few words. [...]

Mad Men and Dirty Dancing in the Mountains

July 9, 2012

We sneak off to the mountains when summer gets too Warm in North Carolina. It only takes about fifty minutes and we are suddenly transported into that town from “Dirty Dancing.” I’m not kidding it is even the same year! It is like “Mad Men,” but in the mountains! The restaurants bring garlic toast and [...]
